Optic fibre project under CPEC completed

Islamabad: The optic fibre project initiated under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has been completed, reported a news source. This project is completed at a cost of PKR 44 million and it will help develop the telecom sector in the northern parts of the country. The project is of immense importance for the country as it will reduce Pakistan’s dependence on optic fibre passing through the Arabian Sea. In addition, it is among the 10 projects completed so far under the CPEC. Work on laying of optic fibre completed in a record time of two years, where underground optic fibre measuring 820 kilometres has been laid between Rawalpindi and Khunjrab.
