E&T proposes rise in taxes on cars, property

Lahore: The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department Punjab has proposed to increase due taxes on property and cars, reported a news source. The suggestions in this regard have been sent to the Government of Punjab. According to details, the department has proposed a 10% rise in property taxes in Punjab, while 50% rise in token duty for cars was recommended. If the government agrees to this proposal, the Lifetime Token Tax on cars will be increased from PKR 10,000 to PKR 15,000 while that on motorbikes will go up from PKR 1,200 to PKR 2,000.
