CDA to turn I-17 into a residential sector

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to change the status of Sector I-17 from industrial to residential, according to a news source. In this regard, a summary has been sent to the Prime Minister to declare it a residential sector. Sector I-17, which was introduced as an industrial sector in 2009, was rejected by industrialists. The sector was launched by the CDA on Supreme Courts’ verdict of moving industries from residential areas of Islamabad to outside the city’s domain. The sector couldn’t be developed in the last nine years. Now, the CDA’s Estate Department has proposed to convert it into a residential sector because of civic needs.
