UK to help Pakistan implement CGPI initiative

Islamabad: British High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr Christian Turner on Wednesday held a meeting with Adviser to the Prime Minister (PM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam during which he announced his government’s decision to cooperate with the climate change ministry on the ‘Clean and Green Pakistan Index’ (CGPI) initiative, a news source reported. Read: Urban forestry needed to fight global warming He told the adviser that the UK government wanted to help Pakistan with the implementation of retaliatory measures against the repercussions of global warming. In response, Malik Amin Aslam informed the British commissioner about the five main green initiatives: Clean Green Pakistan Risk Index, Clean Green Pakistan Programme, Recharge Pakistan and Ecosystem Restoration Fund, and 10 billion Tree Tsunami Programme.
