Pakistan’s largest solar wall inaugurated

Lahore: Punjab Minister for Energy Dr Muhammad Akhtar Malik has inaugurated Pakistan’s largest solar wall at the Centre for Energy Research and Development (CERAD) in the University of Engineering and Technology’s (UET) Kala Shah Kaku Campus, a news source reported. The ceremony was also attended by the UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Aziz Akbar, faculty members and students. The solar wall will generate 410 kilowatts of energy. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Muhammad Akhtar Malik said Pakistan’s industry is currently facing severe energy crisis. He stressed for a need to focus on introduction of alternative sources of energy to tackle that shortage.UET VC Dr Akbar said that we need to focus on utilisation of renewable energy in the country. He added that UET has always played a vital role in the government projects. He called the solar wall project an important milestone in the field of energy generation.
